Becoming A Birder

  • Cope Environmental Center 1730 Airport Road Centerville, IN, 47330 United States (map)

If you’ve ever wished you knew more about the birds around you, this is the perfect place to start. Becoming a Birder is an encouraging, judgment-free introduction to the world of birdwatching, designed especially for beginners who want to learn but aren’t sure where to begin.

You’ll learn how to choose field guides and binoculars, recognize common species, attract birds to your yard, and explore the best local birding hotspots. We’ll show you how to observe behavior, listen for calls, and confidently use the tools and techniques real birders rely on every day.

By the end of the program, you’ll feel empowered, knowledgeable, and excited to call yourself a birder.

This program is free-donations are always appreciated.
