Bring the whole family out for an evening adventure as we search Cope’s trails and gardens for fascinating caterpillars of all shapes and sizes. These tiny creatures play an enormous role in nature, serving as an important food source for birds and other wildlife while eventually transforming into moths and butterflies.
During this hands-on program, families will learn how to spot caterpillars in the wild, discover the differences between moth and butterfly caterpillars, and explore the native plants that help them thrive. We’ll also discuss simple ways you can create a more caterpillar-friendly habitat at home to support pollinators and healthy ecosystems.
