Ducks are one of the most colorful, strangest, and entertaining groups of birds to see! In mid-October on the ponds, resevoirs, and lakes thousands of ducks begin to descend from their breeding grounds in the north to escape the harsh temperatures and feed on the rich bounty in our waterways. Did you know in Indiana alone you can see up 23 different species of ducks in the winter months! Join us for an evening of learning about the different species of our waddling friends you can see locally and where to find them. We will talk about the males and their striking colors and feathers, and the amazing adaptations that ducks use to survive in the frigid waters. We will also have excellent duck specimens to see up close and and will also do a little duck call game to see what sound you think is a duck and what isn't.
