Did you know that thousands, even millions, of birds migrate over your home every night between late August and mid-October? As they travel, these birds use flight calls to navigate and stay connected with their flock.
To gain a deeper understanding of bird migration patterns over Indiana and Cope, we’ve partnered with the Indiana Audubon Society on the Echoes of the Night Sky Project. This research records these night flight calls to track when and where different species are passing through. The data helps us protect critical stopover habitats and explore how light and sound pollution may impact their migration.
For more insights, Whitney Yoerger, Communications and Outreach Manager from Indiana Audubon, will join us virtually to discuss the Echoes of the Night Sky Project in Indiana.
Join us on November 21st for a special event as we dive into Cope’s fall migration findings and explore the fascinating world of bird migration!
