As the first signs of spring emerge with the late-winter rains, salamanders awaken from their underground homes and begin their annual migration to vernal pools. Join us at our South entrance (4910 Shoemaker Rd) for a special Salamander Walk this March to witness this fleeting and magical event. This unique experience offers a rare glimpse into the lives of these secretive amphibians as they journey through the forest. Be sure to dress warmly and wear waterproof shoes or boots, as trails and wetlands may be damp and muddy. Bring a flashlight and a curious spirit as we venture into the night to uncover the hidden world of salamanders!
