Where Trogons meet Thrushes-Exploring the nexus between Indiana & Ecuador

  • Cope Environmental Center 1730 Airport Road Centerville, IN, 47330 United States (map)

The Chocó cloud forest in northwestern Ecuador is a globally significant biodiversity hotspot. With only 2–3% of the original forest remaining, this endangered ecosystem covers a small percentage of global woodlands (1%), but boasts immense species richness, including nearly 20% of the world's bird and plant species. This small corner of the world is also critical to many of our Neotropical migrant bird species.

Come join us for an evening of exploration and discovery as we examine the nexus between this endangered biodiversity hotspot and our own Indiana migrant bird species. This special presentation will be led by David E. Russell, PhD, of Miami University and the Avian Research and Education Institute.
