Indiana enjoys a variety of weather patterns and wonders all around. Let’s experience some of them: Wind, Rain, Clouds, Fog, Frost, Rainbows, and more!

Turtles are giving us clues and hints of springtime changes are all around us. Let’s discover which plants and animals are waking up from a winter’s rest.

Tots and their grownup visit Cope’s own Sugar Bush to learn where maple syrup comes from and how it is harvested. Warm up in the Sap House where we make and try the delicious maple syrup and read a special book. Please dress for the weather and enter at our Homestead Entrance on Shoemaker Road.

Tots and their grownup layer up in January to explore Indiana's snowiest month of the year. Snow and ice sensory stations, a read-aloud, a short hike, and a snowflake craft round out the activities. Warm drinks will be available, so be sure to bring your favorite travel mug.

In December, Nature Tots becomes Nature Tots at Night. Children aged 3-5 and their adult join us on our Winter Luminary Tree Trail to experience the beauty of the Winter woods illuminated at a time that doesn't interfere with bedtime. Tots will also enjoy learning about birds in Winter, a snack, a book, and crafting their own bird feeder.

Tots and their grownup will learn all about wild turkeys, read a book, and do a craft. Be sure to dress for the weather for a fun game of Follow the Turkey out on the trails.

Autumn Colors! Tots and their adult join us for a program about the changes happening in Autumn; including hands-on, themed stations, reading a book titled Goodbye Summer, Hello Autumn, a short hike, and a craft using items found on the hike.

Children ages 2-4 years old and their caregiver enjoy their own special time at CEC each month. Stories, hands-on activities, crafts and a hike showcase a different topic each month.
